cloudy skies, dry conditions by the afternoon and it will be quite mild as well. a shower is possible on halloween, but most of halloween looks dry as well. right now, it's 64 in manassas, but down to 55. 54 as a matter of fact in gaithersburg and 62 degrees right now in d.c. so you can see that cloud cover on the way here on satellite and radar. the showers that are approaching. you can see most of the heavy rain has already been rained out of the system. so as it arrives, just some light scattered showers. good news for us. as we are looking at 9 future cast, you can see that cloud cover building in by midnight. for the morning commute, the clusters of showers moving through. just a few flicks of the windshield wipers, no heavy rain. you may not need that rain gear. the rain starts to move off to the east and we will see some clearing, a few peeks of shine possible on wednesday afternoon. but a few sprinkles are still possible as we head into the day on thursday.

so, some nice weather in the forecast as far as temperatures go, but if you want completely dry weather, that's not going to be in the offering. becoming mostly cloudy with showers after midnight. 44 to 50 with southeast winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour. tomorrow morning, we could have a few showers out there. cloudy skies, temperatures in the 50s and then in the afternoon, we're going to notice winds become more southerly in advance of our approaching cold front. mostly cloudy on wednesday afternoon, mild and dry with highs between 62 and 68 degrees. over the next three days, green weather alerts for wednesday and thursday and then a yellow alert on friday. i'll explain why. we have a slight chance for a shower on halloween thursday itself. nice and mild with a high of 72. you will notice a strong breeze on thursday as a cold front makes its way toward us. that cold front could bring us showers and thunderstorms especially early in the day on thursday. and then you'll really notice that temperatures starting to dip as we head into the weekend. in the first alert seven-day

a health alert tonight about limiting your kids screen time. a new study recommends that you limit your kids tweeting and texting to just two hours a day and keep smart phones and laptops out of bedrooms. the study found there are links to obesity and a lack of sleep when parents do not set media rules. >> we need to set those up for ourselves. a concerned mom performed a stroller brigade in capitol hill. they are calling on congress to reform the nation's law on
